Morning Glory and Two Souls, One Heart
Grand Junction, CO
Please go and see my latest contribution to Art on the Corner 2008-2009, Grand Junction, CO, which is displayed on Main Street. The limestone sculpture titled 'Morning Glory' is a three-foot high representation of a bird with its voice raised in dawn song. I hope you like it. You can also see my 'Two Souls, One Heart' marble sculpture which the city purchased and has placed outside the Visitor Center just off the highway. Grand Junction is a vital art loving city which has become the model for others wishing to create a public sculpture display and purchase program for their cities and towns.

Butterfly Project
Colorado Springs, CO
This spring I was privileged to be asked to decorate a 56 inch wingspan butterfly for the Butterflies and Friends Project. This is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Colorado Springs, CO, to raise money in support of the art program at Queen Palmer Elementary School. It was such a treat to work in color and to be able to create in the assemblage style of sculpture. Mark Harmon of All Coat Finishing powder coating company in Colorado Springs kindly donated his time and materials and worked with me to create the beautiful finish on the butterfly. The music theme is carried by the metal pieces suspended from the wings which chime against each other in the breeze. Please go see it at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and tell me what you think. My butterfly, 'Mariposa Music', along with thirty other creations will be auctioned on October 11 at a special party at the zoo.
